Cutting Ceramic Tile -- Interior Cuts

Cutting ceramic tile on interior tile can be accomplished several ways. One way, using the simple tools uses a drill and hack saw.

To make a cut within a tile, first drill through the tile using an electric drill. A masonry bit works best. Grip the tile in a vise or just support it along the edge of a table. In either case, protect the tile piece with pieces of wood.

After the hole is drilled, pass a rod saw through the hole and fasten it to your hacksaw frame to cut out the desired shape.

Supporting the tile while cutting is the best way to protect the tile from breakage.
