How To Pack The Deck Mud In The Tile Shower Pan
Once you have the deck mud mix for your tile shower pan, what next? Well, it must quickly be put in place.
You have only about 30 - 45 minutes to get the deck mud where it belongs.
The mortar is put into place using trowels and then raked into shape with short wood pieces as straight edges. The mortar is packed with a wood float or a flat steel trowel. It's then rubbed or scraped into the dish shape of the shower floor.
The smoother and more even the layers, the easier it is to get the finished look you want.
It may help to install guide strips out at the walls or at least mark guide lines on the wall to get the edges of the floor level.
